The helmet is a barn find from Australia with the known lot number of 197. The apple green under paint can be seen under the tropical paint and is visible on the edges of the inner rim. The under rim of the shell has been hand painted with a light green. The helmet has a slight shrapnel gash to the rear skirt. The leather liner is dry and brittle and the liner rim is marked 1942. The original chin strap remains while the split pins are missing from the helmet. According to a lot number data base, this production run had one Heer eagle, and through the chipped paint on this helmet a eagle wing can be seen. This is an opportunity to purchase a very rare original AfrikaKorps M35. This helmet has seen extensive combat service prior to the tropical finish being applied.
